A date for the diary - November 1st 2008 will be this years Gregorian Chant Day which will be a mix of choral workshops and lectures from a couple of guest speakers. Our plans for the November Workshop are coming together well. We hope to hold the morning and afternoon singing sessions and talks in Orange Street Music Club again.
The singing will focus on the Gregorian hymns, psalms and prayers comprising the First Vespers of All Saints. We hope to present two talks, one on the history and significance of festivals around the time of 1st November, and a second reviewing the place of Gregorian Music in the modern Anglican Liturgy.
The day will conclude with the singing of the First Vespers of All Saints in St. Mildred’s Church. A full programme with final information will be available in September.
As usual, with all our events, CGMS Members will get priority booking at a very attractive price!

So, after some initial teething problems and deciding to go with a wordpress-based site, here we are! The site is up and running. It’s pretty basic at the moment but we are hoping that as the Society grows so will the site.
If you want us to link to your site or are organising a Gregorian Music-related event and want us to publicise it then please email us at contact@gregoriansociety.org.
Thanks.
